Its getting warm out!

I have been getting the bug to wheel, but BB has had a few nagging things have needed attention. First, everyone knows ive had my flares painted, powdercoated, powdercoated again, and they never were really right. I just stripped them and had them powder coated to match the rock rails and bumpers.

What do you guys think? Did I ruin them? Im not sold yet.

Next on my list is a suspension test. Im bringing the truck to OK4wd for them to cycle the suspension to make sure everything is tuned correct. I think the guy who did my gear change altered the geometry and didnt know how to put it back right. Not too far off, but not quite right.

It also gave me an excuse to go spy on gbaumann's hemi swap. (I might take the wrong jeep home by mistake on purpose, lol)

I'll also be stripping the KM2s for KO2s. Cannot wait for that. Stay tuned....

For the lazy you need provide a link or at least a decent description of the K02 tire... Now, I will have to go searching for it.

So what made you settle on these tires??? How well do they self-clean when it comes to mud? I like mud? Mud is your friend! I like mud and snow and mud with snow... you get the point.

Looks great! Very unique. Keep the flares just like that!

I think I like the flares. Sort of ties in the carbon fiber hood with the black theme. They only work because the rails match - otherwise they'd stick out. I feel like I want to see a little more of the color towards the top of the vehicle...

...hey. You asked!

So I went to OK4wd today, my mechanic was a very knowledgeable young man, has a samurai he races. They adjusted my suspension and checked a bunch of stuff.

The mechanic drove it and listened to it. Then ripped it apart and checked everything. I suggest if you go, make a list of stuff you want them to look at in advance.

I think they look freaking awesome! Hoping to get flat fenders to replace the stock ones on my JKUR right after I re-gear. What brand are those? Maybe I can sneak the fenders in while it's at the shop and Household06 won't notice?! I've seen some name brand decent priced sets on Amazon. That hood is extremely cool and if you could let me know where to order...hopefully I can get it in fiberglass instead of CF...too hard to fix if I screw it up! Really awesome looking and running rig! Well done!

Im sure JL will answer, but i know these answers. BB's flares are Nemesis Industries. The good is RK sport RAM AIR with functioning ram air tunnels.

Completely bad ass.

Definitely agree with that last statement! Thanks for the reply...going to research and then start adding more to the JKUR Upgrade fund! LBD

Pznivy got it right. Nemesis Notorious Flares and RK sport hood. Ram air. It does come in fiberglass.

Great to know it comes in fiberglass...I can repair that easier than carbon fiber (just in case!). RK is short for Rock Krawler correct? I can easily search online. Oh, and whenever you decide to change the RIPP SC out for anything else, let me know...this 3.8L is killing me! I have to re-gear with 37s for my on-highway sanity/patience! With the auto tranny when I'm home in Texas the speed limit most roads is 70-75 and no one drives 75 (standard rule is add 8mph). Please advise as I trust you guys on advice: 3.8L/auto equals 5.38s to put the engine back close to the power band? Thanks-LongbowDriver

Unfortunately, most everyone here has the 3.6l. I don't believe their power mods will work with our 3.8's (it would be nice if they did).

According to all the online charts, 5.38 would get you close to where you want to be but keep in mind, if you want to do a power mod at some point, you should do it first before gears.

I don't remember if you have a Rubicon or not. If not, 5.13's will be as big as you can go in a standard Dana 30 axle. I would figure if you are planning on 37s then you either have a Rubicon or are planning on beefing up the D30. I'm in the same predicament as I have an Unlimited X and want to go to 37s.

I suggest, before you go power mod, and flares, and hood...etc, Id look into trading in the jeep for a pentastar wrangler '12 or newer. If the difference in price is 7k, i'd skip the power mod, and work with the pentastar, rather than dump money and time into a 3.8, to turn it into a pentastar.
