If you're looking for a first mod or a simple and cost effective mod that will improve the looks of your jeep, then check out the VDP Stubby End caps. VDP's caps involve cutting the OEM bumper and a little drilling, but not much else. The end result is a stubby, almost mid-width front bumper that give you the look and function of a purpose built rig.

It was one of the first mods I did to my jeep and I loved it!

Starts out looking like this:

313

Measure in and mark the width according to instructions

314

Mark with blue tape - you'll use this as a cutting guide for your reciprocating saw.

Cut along the tape lines

318

Clean up the edges a bit:

319

Slide cap over, notice a bit of interference with the factory splash guard which I chose to trim.

320

A bit of a difference!

This really was done well.

It would have been a perfect light weight option if you wanted to stuff big tires in and cut the stock flares.

Didn't you initially have some issues with your duratracs hitting the stock bumper while turning with a tire stuffed? This would have eliminated that issue I believe.

Thats a good mod for big tires.

IF your trying to keep your nose light. Maybe chop those flares next....as the addiction takes hold.....
