Ive gotten SOOOO many emails about the garage floor you can see in our pics for the last 6 months.

Its the Pure Metallic Epoxy Floor from Puremetallic.com

Its two colors of metallic epoxy of different densities that you lay on top of one another and they mix into a design on their own. SUPER COOL.

Also, its really 3 layers of epoxy. The base layer, which covers the whole floor. Next is the drip layer, this is the layer that makes the design as it spreads thru the bottom layer, then you put a layer of clear epoxy on top of that, then urethane on top of that.

Its as thick as military grade epoxy, And cooler than any floor Ive seen.

Lets start with floor prep.

The floor was not in good shape. It wasnt awful, until I looked close.

It had slabs that were different levels, and people had written their names in it. It really was beat up.

Here are some shots of some problem areas.

This was the worst part.

The kid that did this 30 years ago really dug in deep.

That floor is a mess. Im shocked they didnt make you grind chunks out and lay all new cement.

Cool right?

The plan is the roll the base coat out and then drip the "metallic effect" on it. We did not use enough metallic effect, and the base swallowed it up.

so back to the drawing board. We did this last november so it was too cold to try to do it again. I had to wait for warm weather.
