    The Powder Coat Saga Continues...

So I got the Nemesis Industries flares last year.

    Beautiful.

Ill post the unboxing video in a sec. They came bare aluminum. Works of art really.

I wanted to wrap them in Xpel Ultimate Wrap, like the rest of the truck. So I needed a perfect finish. Nice and flat so I can wrap over it. I figure paint was the way to go. A friend owed me a favor and told me to take them to "his guy". 1st mistake. This guy was a butcher.

They came back scratched. Really scratched. Awful. I'll find some pics.

The guy was sorry, yada yada yada,

    Bring them back.... Same thing.

Here are some shots after the first shot at paint... Real terrible work. Ill figure out the name of the shop so I can publicly blast them. The guy was an idiot.

I talked to a bunch of powdercoaters but it seemed like they all wanted around $600 to do 4 flares. I considered that to be expensive.

Heartbroken so far, and weeks passing, I brought them to a powdercoater who charged me 300 to do the job. But did the job awful again. I wanted to kill myself.

There were rough spots and "out gassing" as Ive learned to call it now.

Really busch league. Still the flares could not be wrapped.

I got my jkur interior done for 600 total, I think their prices are consistent nationwide.

Similar to rhino but a better texture and tougher imo

You know I have a great powder coat guy, genuinely good prep work and amazing attention to detail. Unfortunately, I'm in Maryland so transportation costs would be prohibitive. I don't know what it is that makes it so challenging.
