These new "Dry Cut" saws are the next evolution from the old abrasive saws, and do cut better. But some of the claims are not substantiated and I'll get into that. Regardless, Ive tested two of these, The Dewalt 14 inch dry-cut, and the MK Morse 14 inch Metal Devil.
Both saws run at about the same slower speed with carbide toothed blades. This is how they cut metal cleaner than faster than the old abrasive wheels. They also do not make all the sparks that the old abrasives made. The downside is that the blades are expensive, but the manufacturers say that you should get sooooo many cuts out of a blade that the price per cut should be the same or less than the cheap abrasive wheels.
The winner and loser in this test was easy to see from a distance. When you sit them next to one another, the difference is clear. The MK Morse is built of heavier materials all around. Yes its more expensive than the dewalt, but once you use them, you will not care that you could save $100 with the Dewalt.
